We can today say that Danske Bank Luxembourg, operating from their offices in Centro Comercial Idea, Carretera Fuengirola Mijas, was definitely successful in spreading the story that taking out a mortgage on your home to avoid Spanish taxes was the best thing since sliced bread.
A great deal of the business carried out by Danske Bank in Spain was Equity Release though straight loans to purchase property were also signed.
However, judging by how many equity release contracts we have knowledge of, in so many different places in Spain, we can say Danske’s scaremongers managed to make their lie, no matter how outrageous, a truthful story by repeating it often enough.
This is very good work by Erva and their lawyers to access this information. I have counted some 80 cases where Danske Bank have signed up victims in their equity release programme. I wonder how many are aware of the action Erva and Lawbird Legal Services are taking. Wouldn’t it be great if we could also access the names and addresses of all these victims and ask them if they want to join in the fight against Danske Bank.
That of course is our next step. We will then be contacting all these people to see if they are interested in joining our quest for justice. After, we will concentrate on other banks. Of course this will be very time consuming as we are but a dedicated few, who give up their time in helping other victims. We also have to convince our lawyer Antonio Flores at Lawbird Legal Services, to use his firm and legal employees to help, free of charge as Erva is a non profit Association, with no funding. We will see what we can do.
