Finnish TV channel have been recently following the activities of Danske Bank International S.A and Nordea Bank S.A. (as well as the Swiss branch) in Spain and to this extent, they traveled to Marbella to film some victims of these highly dishonest individuals.
One of these cowboys is the man on the picture, Jesper Hertz, an expert in cheating customers by advising to take out loans against Spanish properties owned outright by expats so that they can avoid Spanish Inheritance Tax.
The Finnish TV wants to know how come these bank operate with such wildly diverse standards depending on where they are based i.e. Finland, where they preach the highest values of morality, integrity, honesty, compliance with the laws and, on the other hand, Luxembourg and Spain, which are truly tax evasion laboratories.
More to follow.
On the Isle of Man the government (and its feeble regulatory authorities) boast the highest values of morality, integrity, honesty and compliance.
But all of these boasts are conveniently forgotten when Isle of Man registered companies invade Spain with illegal “agents” selling illegal tax evasion products to blameless pensioners.
Then their boasting changes and the elderly people are accused of being dumb to believe the lies they are told and it is all their fault.
The noose is tightening and justice is on its way. Nowhere is safe for these people.
Well done to those involved in bringing these scoundrels to justice.
Liars and scoundrels who though they could cheat their way across international borders with their despicable agents and products.
As you rightly comment, justice is now on its way for the thousands of victims of these cowardly crimes.
Television has become one of the most powerful forces on the planet, and over the last 20 years, satellites, digital technology and the internet have made it even more powerful
And now ”social media” is breathing extra life into television, as digital technology explodes onto the media landscapes so that the future for TV has never looked so assured. Social media is having a profoundly positive impact as more and more viewers are using it to exchange information and discuss various issues.
Clearly the fraudsters s who planned to rob elderly people did not anticipate this phenomena – and everyone involved from the dishonest product suppliers with their scumbag “agents” and the governments who supported these frauds are now being fully exposed.
Finnish TV is just the start. Justice for all!
As you say justice is just round the corner. It would be interesting to know how the Finnish TV channel got hold of the story. Perhaps as a result of complaints made by Finnish nationals being caught up in Spain by this scam, which is exactly what it was A SCAM of huge proportions.
Some time ago erva together with our lawyer searched the public records including the Land Registry. As. a result we found close to 100 potential cases in the Marbella area alone where Nordea had signed up unsuspecting client to the now infamous and unlawful Equity Release Sceme. Some 90% of these had Scandinavian names, many of which could well be Finnish nationals. It is also interesting to note thanthe term of so called protective insurance policy was for 10 years. The majority of the scams were enacted around 2005 and it could well be that Nordea are now calling in the loans, thereby bringing this scam to a head. Just a thought.
