We’re all in the same boat, we all feel the same, we all live with the threat of loosing our homes. So, nothing I can add which hasn’t already been said. Thank God for this Group and Antonio.
When Peter Hardy (Hamiltons) sold us this product he assured us this was a ROTHSCHILD PRODUCT, and if anything was to go wrong – highly unlikely – Rothschild would remedy the problem immediately as it was their responsibility to ensure the success of this scheme. Interestingly, he always referred to it as a loan, using the property as collateral just like any other form of loan, never a mortgage or equity release (dirty words!)
We added a second property six months after the first. Unbeknown to us the first fund had already failed, but nobody told us, there were no statements issued and even their lawyer reiterated what a good scheme this was. And Rothschild went right ahead and gave us the loan! So much for the bank’s “due diligence”!
It would be very interesting to know just who was responsible for launching these schemes. “Not us,” says the bank, “we’re purely the lender.” “Not us,” says their agents, “we’re just following the banks instructions.” Incredible.
